Matrix Selectors¶

The Matrix Selector modules provide a way to implement source selection for many outputs. In a matrix selector, each output can be fed by exactly one input. Contrast this to a matrix mixer module, in which each output can be a mix of any of the inputs. Matrix selectors act like multiple input selectors with all their inputs wired in parallel. In fact, before this module was available, may customer have implemented this functionality with parallel connected input selectors. Each output can also be muted.

Custom Matrix Selector sizes are available in both Mono and Stereo versions. In the stereo version, input pairs are routed to output pairs. In the mono version, input counts range from (2) to (96) and outputs range from (4) to (64). For Stereo Matrix Selectors, input counts range from (2) to (48) stereo pairs and output counts range from (2) to (32) stereo pairs.

The controls for the matrix selector modules are divided among (4) or more tabs. The first tab, master, provides an overview of the entire module. It shows the connection and the status of the mute for each output. A Mute All turns on all mutes.

The Inputs tab provides a place to name each input. The names are displayed on the other tabs and the module inputs labels.

There are also one or more Output tabs, depending on the size of the module. Each output tab allows for controlling up to (8) outputs. For each output, you can select the input that it receives and control the Mute. The selected input is displayed two ways; 1) with a series of Connect buttons, exactly one of which is selected, and 2) a numerical display of the input number. This numerical display is provided primarily for remote control (assign a controller to it), but may also be useful as a compact indicator of the current source selection.
