Introduction to Super-modules¶
A super-module is a collection of modules configured to do a particular task. The super-module wraps this set of modules into a 'magic box' that has input and output terminals. Use this if you have a particular set of processing to do and need to repeat it through your system. Double clicking a super-module reveals its insides and allows setting individual processors.
You can use a control screen or screens to allow controlling selected parts of the super-module functionality.
The Super-module Library Manager (Tools/Super-module Library Manager) lets you delete, export, import and rename super-modules.
To create a Super-module:
- Click on Super-modules located in the Toolkit.
- Click on Blank Super-module.
- Specify the number of inputs and outputs you want in the dialog box.
- Click OK.
If you wish to increase the number of inputs or outputs in you Super-module, add a new Super-module Input or Output from the tool-kit. If you wish to decrease the number of inputs or outputs in your Super-module, delete an input or output block from the Super-module.
Note 1: When deleting an I/O block, the remaining blocks will be re-numbered so they remain consecutive.
Note 2: Don't forget to check out the example Super-modules included with Composer. They can be found in the "Super-Module" folder typically located at - C:\Program Files (x86)\Symetrix\Symetrix Composer X.X\Super-modules, where "Symetrix Composer X.X" is the version of Symetrix Composer that you are working with, i.e. "Symetrix Composer 1.1". Newer versions of Composer (5.0+) is tyically located at - C:\Program Files (x86)\Symetrix\Composer X.X\Super-modules.
Note 3: Some fonts from older Windows versions may not be available with newer Windows versions. Composer will pick the first available font it does recognize.
