General Information¶
The Crestron Certified Module for Symetrix DSP called Symetrix Mute All v2.0 will mute all output channels when it is active and will un-mute all output channels when it is inactive. This module functions for the Symetrix Integrator Series Product which has a closed, fixed architecture and Control Number 9999 pre-assigned to be a mute-all function. There is no further programming that needs to be done in the Integrator Series units. To use this Mute All with open architecture DSP a Symetrix Control Number assignment needs to be made in the Site file to all unit outputs.

Summary¶
In the Symetrix Integrator Series DSP, the 722, 760, 761, 780 and 788 the Control numbers have already been assigned. These units have a fixed architecture. This module is designed to cause the fixed Symetrix Control Number 9999 to go to (65,535) and then to (0). This Symetrix Control Number is assigned to be a Mute All in the Integrator Series product. This is analogous to the F2 Mute All functionality in Symetrix Designer and Composer based product.
General Notes¶
This module is simply a button press with a fixed Control Number. The fixed Control Number is actually only suggested, you could use other Control Numbers if you are using this with Symetrix Designer/Composer based product; Edge and Radius. The suggestion is 9999, the very last Symetrix Control Number. If you happen to be programming an open architecture unit you could choose this Symetrix Control Number, 9999 to be assigned to each output's mute button and essentially end up with the same functionality as the F2 press from a keyboard. It is stated that this module is meant for the Symetrix Integrator Series, due to the fact that the Symetrix Control Number 9999 is already assigned to be a Mute All in these units. The Integrator would have to make the assignment themselves if they intend to use this module with Edge or Radius.

Setup of Crestron Hardware¶
RS-232. Baud Rate; 38400 to 115200 - Configurable through Symetrix Software Application.
8 Bit, Non-Parity, Stop Bit; 1, Flow Control; None.
Crestron Cable Type. CNSP-121

UDP/IP. Port:** 48631**.
Note: It is very important to notice that when Controlling Edge and Radius with the 3rd Party Control Protocol via Ethernet one must use UDP. The UDP Control Port Number has changed to48631. Legacy Symetrix units, those which are programmed with Symetrix Designer used and continue to use port 48630. This is not the case with the DSP which are programmed using Composer; Edge and Radius. Edge and Radius use UDP port48631to communicate when using the 3rd Party Control Protocol.
Application Notes¶
This module will send CS 9999 65535 when active and CS 9999 0 when Inactive. It is up to the integrator to actually fill in the field which recommends control number 9999, with the actual Symetrix Control Number that will activate the Mute all. In the closed/fixed architecture Integrator Series product; the 722, 760, 761, 780 and 788, this Mute All Control Number is 9999. In all open architecture units the Integrator will have to assign this number. This module is a SIMPL module modeled after the Button Press v2.0. It should be added, saved and compiled in the same directory as the Crestron project file, or in the User SIMPL directory. This mute all functionality does not automatically have a Control Number assigned to it in Symetrix Designer and Composer based product. The F2 function while "online", performs a Mute All, but there is not a Control Number assigned which will fire it. If a work around is desired, the integrator can use this module and create their own mute scheme by going throughout the Composer Site file and assigning Control Number 9999 to every output's mute key.

Control¶
Button_On/Off/Toggle. Signal Type: Digital. Pulse to turn the function on, or off.
From_Device. Signal Type: Serial. Serial signal to be routed from a 2-way serial COM port, or a UDP/IP symbol.
Parameters¶
9999. Signal Type: Variable to be entered by the integrator for the Symetrix Control Number. It is suggested that Control Number 9999 is used, as this is already assigned in the Integrator series as a Mute All. It is the last Symetrix Control Number that can be assigned.
Feedback¶
Buttton_is_on/Off. Signal Type: Digital. High to indicate the current state of the function.
To_Device. Signal Type: Serial. Serial signal to be routed to a 2-way serial COM port or UDP/IP symbol.
