Dante Requirements¶
-
Use CAT6 cabling for all Dante interconnects.
-
Reserve 30% of available bandwidth if running control traffic on the same network. Using this conservative reservation, a 100 Mbit link could handle up to 48x48 channels and a 1 Gbps link could handle up to 512x512 channels at 48 kHz.
-
Daisy chains and uplinks should be Gigabit.
-
Repeater hubs are not supported.
-
Use commercial-grade managed switches to interconnect more than 10 local units or units more than 100 meters apart. The switches must support the following:
-
- Quality of Service (QoS) with four queues.
- DiffServ (DSCP) with strict priority.
