Mixers¶
Composer offers to the integrator several different kinds of mixers. There are Mono/Mono, Mono/Stereo, Stereo/Stereo and LCR mixers available from (2) to (32) input versions available. The LCR mixers implement (3) channel panning, where Left and Right outputs are silent when the program material has been panned to Center.
The mixers have; Mute, Solo and Inversion functions as well as Signal Present and Clip indicators. Larger mixers, greater than (8) channels, will operate in banks of (8) channel views, with an overview screen provided to allow the integrator to see the entire gain structure at once.
The Inversion function, activated by the Invert button, is an audio polarity inversion. It is analogous to reversing pin 2 and 3 on an XLR connector, or hitting theΦbutton available on some analog mixing consoles.
Note:** The Solo function works by muting the non-soloed channels. This is considered "solo in place", or "destructive solo." Please don't confuse it with PFL, or AFL. There is not a separate Solo, or Control Room bus, so if a channel is put into Solo mode during operation, the sound system listeners will know it.**
