Controls That Function Differently in SymVue

Some controls behave a bit differently in SymVue than in Composer. Sometimes they are displayed differently and sometimes they do not contain the full spectrum of control that they might have in Composer.

Below is a list of some of the known control issues:

  1. Linkwitz-Riley Filters: Filter settings that are grayed out are shown as active in SymVue; Low and High ends of the filter are not linked in control.
  2. Graph controls in Frequency Response graphs and EQs: Highlighted bands are not displayed in SymVue; band numbers and related Q are not displayed in SymVue graphs; filters are not adjustable by clicking/dragging on the graph.
  3. Feedback Fighters: In Composer, unused bands are hidden on the graph, whereas in SymVue they are displayed on the 0 dB axis.
  4. Faders in Mixers: Some fader controls that read OFF in Composer will read -72 dB in SymVue.
  5. Matrix Master Screens: Tool Tips indicating In/Out crosspoints are not displayed.

Other Differences

  1. Modules with automatically Linked controls, such as Crossover Frequency or Ramp Time faders, will not maintain their linked operation in SymVue. A work-around is to manually assign the same Control Number to the controls you want to be linked. Otherwise, in SymVue, each fader will have to be adjusted independently. The same applies to other faders that might have been linked at the time of export, such as mixer channels with the Link button on. These must be assigned to the same Control Number or adjusted independently in SymVue.
  2. Module Viewer buttons are not supported by SymVue. A workaround is to copy the entire module layout to its own Control Screen and use Control Screen Viewer Buttons for navigation.
